My name is Syahredzan Johan, born in 1983 in Malaysia and currently residing in Petaling Jaya.
I am a lawyer by profession but I am also a self-professed ’social critique’. I am passionately patriotic, although not in the conventional ‘flag-waving’ way. I believe the nation of Malaysia still has so much unfulfilled potential, yet we are pegged back by our divisive nature, our desire to divide rather than unite.
‘Refleksi Minda’ is a way for me express my views and opinions and whilst I harbor no hope that the readers will agree with all my views, I expect the readers to respect my right to hold those views. Some of my views may be ‘controversial’, yet I will not mince my words when I feel it is needed. Having said that, I do not think that my views are ‘extreme’. I’d like to think myself as the paradoxical ‘liberal conservative’; a conservative with liberal views.
As for the title ‘Refleksi Minda’, it’s a literal English to Malay translation of ‘mind’s reflections’.
